Quicken for Mac
Looking for financial software for your
Macintosh Computer?
Quicken for Mac is one you may want to take a look at.
Intuit
is
coming
out with a new
version of Quicken for the Mac platform. The release is likely
to occur in Feb 2010.
In 2008, an announcement came
out about Quicken Financial life for Macintosh
platforms, but this never occurred. Also, in 2009, a similar commitment
was heard in the Macworld. But, eventually it was
realized that the software would not do what it was
expected. The feedback collected was used by Intuit to develop a better
product.
Quicken for Mac was born as a result of the
comments from Mac customers. The programmers
at Intuit took the feedback very seriously.
They decided to start from scratch to rebuild the
entire product. Although it may sound like reinventing the
wheel, it was decided that every aspect of Quicken
for Mac would be changed.
From its appearance, to the way it works, a good
amount of time was also spent in building a reconcile
mode for new registers.
Equal attention was also devoted towards complicated
functions such as Windows to Macintosh transfer. This was primarily
meant for the
newer generation of the Mac users, but also for those using a
Windows virtual machine to run Quicken.
Quicken for Macintosh Looks (and Acts) Like a Mac
The look and
feel of the new accounting software for Mac was also redesigned to
a great extent to make the software look and feel as close as possible
to a native Mac application. Overall it may be said that Intuit
took the feedback from Mac users very seriously. Now
Apple consumers have a product that acts as it should on their
computer of choice.
Delay = Better Product
Intuit apologized for the delay, and justified it
by saying that they are utilizing all customer comments in a productive
manner to ensure the quality of the product and its
release. They
want to ensure the product is free from
flaws and works as expected and demanded by their customers. It is
anticipated that most financial tasks performed by Mac users
with this appliation will be simplified beyond
imagination.
No CPA Required
The new version of accounting Mac software does
not require you to be a certified
accountant to perform
consolidation of bank balances across your accounts. This
includes different
banks as well as investment accounts. Helpful graphs will help
you track your expenditures, bill payments will be a cinch, and overall
management of your funds will be better than ever before.
